Malaysian Energy Contractor Books $3.6 Million in Regional Power Deals
Swift Energy wins contracts spanning Indonesia, Myanmar and Malaysia as Southeast Asian infrastructure spending accelerates

KEY TAKEAWAYS
- ·Swift Energy Technology won five contracts worth RM17 million to supply electrical and navigation systems across Malaysia, Indonesia and Myanmar, with delivery spanning 2026 to 2028.
- ·Orders include explosion-proof power equipment for offshore oil platforms, solar arrays for gas fields, and 11-kilovolt resistors for a Malaysian data center.
- ·The awards reflect sustained infrastructure spending by PTTEP and Petronas even as global upstream budgets tighten, while hyperscale demand drives Malaysian data center equipment orders.
Cross-Border Pipeline
Swift Energy Technology Bhd announced RM17 million in fresh contract wins spanning three Southeast Asian markets, with work stretching from Indonesia's offshore oil fields to Myanmar's gas development zones and Malaysia's emerging hyperscale data center sector.
The Kuala Lumpur-based firm disclosed that five separate clients have placed orders for electrical and navigation equipment. Swift Energy Sdn Bhd, the group's main operating subsidiary, will handle four of the contracts, while Swift Energy Oil & Gas Sdn Bhd secured the fifth.
PT Meindo Elang Indah, Zhuhai Jutal Offshore Oil Services, Cummins Sales and Service, Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering, and Muhibbah Engineering comprise the client roster.
Indonesia and Myanmar Offshore Scope
The Indonesian assignment involves delivering explosion-proof navigation equipment, DC uninterruptible power supply units and AC/DC switchrack assemblies for PT Petronas Indonesia's Bukit Panjang Development Project. The company expects to complete installation by March 2027.
A parallel contract with Zhuhai Jutal calls for solar generation arrays, AC and DC distribution boards, and navigational aid packages destined for PTTEP's Zawtika Development Project Phase 1F, a gas field off Myanmar's southern coast. That timeline also targets first-quarter 2027 handover.
Domestic Data Center and Platform Work
Inside Malaysia, Swift Energy will furnish Cummins Sales and Service with 17 units of 11-kilovolt neutral earthing resistors manufactured by Cressall, earmarked for a data center project. The company did not identify the facility operator or location.
Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering ordered navigational aid systems and medium-intensity obstruction lights for four PTTEP wellhead platforms: Sapih, Tiram, Wangsa and Chenda. Completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
Muhibbah Engineering contracted Swift Energy Oil & Gas to supply IP55-rated 6.6/0.4kV cast resin transformers for three Petronas Carigali wellhead platforms labeled Sepat A, B and C. Delivery will roll out over a three-year window.
Earnings Contribution Window
Swift Energy said the combined contracts will lift earnings and net assets across fiscal years ending September 30, 2026, 2027 and 2028. The group operates within Malaysia's mid-tier electrical and instrumentation supply segment, competing for contracts issued by national oil companies and international engineering contractors active in the Malay Basin and adjacent waters.
The string of awards reflects steady capital deployment by state-controlled energy operators across ASEAN, even as global oil majors trim upstream budgets elsewhere. PTTEP, Thailand's national exploration arm, continues to advance multi-phase developments in Myanmar's offshore blocks, while Petronas maintains a pipeline of marginal field tie-backs in Malaysian waters.
Data center demand in Malaysia has climbed as hyperscalers scout for alternatives to saturated Singapore land parcels. Johor and Selangor states have emerged as preferred destinations, driving orders for backup power and thermal management equipment.
Swift Energy's contract pipeline now includes explosion-proof systems tailored for hazardous offshore environments, solar arrays that reduce diesel generator run-time on remote platforms, and grid-quality transformers for onshore industrial loads. The diversity of specifications underscores the technical breadth required to serve both legacy hydrocarbon infrastructure and nascent digital infrastructure in parallel.
