Revenue Momentum Accelerates
Winmate, a Taiwan-based industrial computing manufacturer, recorded second-quarter revenue of NT$1.18 billion (US$36.58 million), marking a 42 percent increase from the same period last year, according to company data. First-half revenue climbed 30 percent year-on-year, driven by demand across warehousing, automotive inspection, and mission-critical applications.
Net profit for the quarter reached NT$200 million, up 38 percent from the previous quarter and 111 percent from a year earlier. Earnings per share rose to NT$2.48, compared with NT$1.80 in the first quarter and NT$1.19 in the second quarter of 2025.
The company's gross margin expanded to 40.2 percent from 36.5 percent in the prior quarter, reflecting its ability to pass component cost increases to customers. Management expects margins to hold steady at approximately 40 percent for the remainder of the year.
Warehousing Drives Product Mix
Warehousing products represented 23 percent of Winmate's second-quarter revenue, the largest category by segment. Automotive inspection and electric vehicle products accounted for 21 percent, while medical devices contributed 12 percent. The remaining revenue came from ground control stations, mission-critical systems, factory automation products, and marine and aviation equipment.
North America and Europe together accounted for 70.7 percent of sales during the quarter. Europe led with 36.1 percent, followed by North America at 34.6 percent. Asia represented 25 percent of revenue, with Taiwan at 3.8 percent and other markets contributing 0.5 percent.
US Logistics Sector Fuels Demand
Rising warehouse automation adoption in the United States is creating sustained demand for high-performance industrial computers and edge artificial intelligence devices, the company said. The logistics sector's shift toward automated systems requires ruggedized computing platforms capable of operating in demanding environments.
Orders for mission-critical applications are projected to increase further in the third quarter, while automotive inspection shipments are expected to recover from previously subdued levels. Medical product shipments are anticipated to scale up from the fourth quarter through the first quarter of 2027, with steady deliveries of equipment for uncrewed vehicles, marine systems, and military vehicles continuing through the current quarter.
Edge AI Adoption Gains Traction
Edge AI-related products are beginning to contribute meaningfully to Winmate's revenue, particularly in the US warehousing and logistics market. The company projects edge AI products will account for roughly 15 percent of total revenue this year, reflecting growing customer adoption of on-site processing capabilities that reduce latency and bandwidth requirements.
Industrial computers equipped with edge AI capabilities enable real-time data processing at warehouse facilities, supporting applications such as inventory management, robotic navigation, and predictive maintenance. The technology allows logistics operators to process sensor data locally rather than transmitting it to centralized cloud infrastructure.
Long-Term Growth Targets
Winmate is positioning itself to serve the semiconductor equipment and industrial automation markets as longer-term growth opportunities. The company is targeting industrial computers, rugged tablets, and panel PCs for semiconductor manufacturers, while seeking to expand its presence among major German industrial automation customers.
The company has secured sufficient central processing unit inventory and established long-term supply agreements with major memory suppliers to support production requirements. This supply chain positioning aims to mitigate component shortages that have affected electronics manufacturers in recent years.
Winmate's product portfolio spans industrial-grade computing systems designed for harsh operating conditions, including extreme temperatures, vibration, and dust exposure. Applications range from factory floors and vehicle-mounted systems to outdoor installations and marine environments, where consumer-grade electronics typically fail to meet reliability requirements.
The company's performance reflects broader trends in Asia's industrial computing sector, where manufacturers are benefiting from factory automation investments and the digitalization of logistics networks across developed markets. As warehouse operators and manufacturers seek to improve operational efficiency through automation, demand for specialized computing hardware continues to expand beyond traditional industrial applications.
