AAO Kicks Off the 2027 Season of AADA and AHA, Turning the Spotlight on Asia’s Next Visionaries

Across Asia, awards play an increasingly important role in identifying the people, organizations, and ideas shaping the region’s future. Beyond celebrating achievement, they help bring visibility to emerging talent, encourage higher standards, and create a shared platform for industries that are evolving across borders.

It is within this wider landscape that the Asia Awards Organization (AAO) has opened registration for the 2027 edition of the Asia Architecture Design Awards (AADA) and Asia Hospitality Awards (AHA), signalling the start of another season of regional recognition for the architecture, design, and hospitality.

This year’s programme takes its cue from the theme “Visionary Asia”, celebrating work that challenges conventional thinking, introduces new approaches, and creates lasting value for communities and industries.

AADA Expands Its Lens on Architecture and Design

The 2027 Asia Architecture Design Awards will feature 30 categories across six disciplines, spanning architecture, interior design, furniture design, and industry practices.

The programme also introduces a new distinction, Asia’s Special Achievement for Women in Architecture & Design, honoring women whose leadership and creative contributions are helping move the region’s design industry forward.

The addition comes at a time when Asia’s design landscape is becoming increasingly diverse, with emerging studios, established practices, developers, and independent creatives contributing to a rapidly evolving regional built environment.

AHA Reflects a Broader Hospitality Landscape

The 2027 Asia Hospitality Awards will likewise comprise 30 categories, covering Hotel, Resort, Lifestyle & Wellness, Cruise & Yacht, and Special Achievement.

The breadth of the programme reflects how hospitality in Asia has expanded beyond the traditional hotel. Wellness destinations, lifestyle-led properties, cruise experiences, hospitality brands, and individual industry leaders are increasingly part of the conversation around what defines a compelling guest experience.

For the region’s hospitality sector, the Awards offer a platform to recognize not only operational and experiential excellence, but also the ideas and business models influencing the future of travel and tourism.

From submissions to Bangkok

The 2027 Awards will follow an annual submission and judging cycle, with registration opening on 20 July 2026 and the standard entry deadline set for 25 February 2027. Judging will take place from March to April, followed by the announcement of winners in April.

The season will culminate in Bangkok in May 2027, where the Winners’ Night is expected to bring together architects, designers, developers, hoteliers, hospitality professionals, and other industry figures from across Asia.

The choice of Bangkok feels fitting for a programme centred on the future of the region. As one of Asia’s most dynamic cultural and creative capitals, the city sits at the intersection of design, tourism, hospitality, and contemporary urban development.

With the 2027 season now underway, AADA and AHA are turning their attention to a new generation of regional ideas and to the people behind them.
